Golden Autumn Covenant: Diamond Foundry Spain's New Factory's First Batch of Cultivated Diamonds Coming Soon

According to a report by Spanish media on February 20th, the well-known diamond cultivation company Diamond Foundry is undergoing equipment installation and debugging at its new factory in Trujillo, Spain, and is expected to produce the first batch of cultivated diamonds (independently developed CVD technology) in the fall of this year.

The total investment of the factory is 675 million euros, and it is currently in the first stage of construction with an investment of 245 million euros. The factory is powered by a 6000 square meter solar power plant and another photovoltaic power plant 5 kilometers away.

According to the plan, the first phase of production of 168 devices at Diamond Foundry Spain will begin in the first half of 2025 and will be fully operational by the end of 2027.

According to current estimates, the initial annual production (rough) was approximately 2 million carats, and upon completion, it will increase to 5 million carats. Most of it will be used in industries such as 5G communication, and a small portion will be used in the jewelry industry.

Regarding the opposition from local residents in Spain towards the construction of 22 power towers by Diamond Foundry at the end of last year, Rafael Benjumea, the head of the company's (Spanish branch), has promised to study alternative solutions to improve the local landscape. (Note: The reason why Spanish residents opposed the construction of electric towers at that time was that these towers would damage the local El Berrocal scenic spot.)

The factory will bring 300 direct employment opportunities and twice the indirect employment opportunities. In addition, Diamond Foundry will also collaborate with La Universidad de Extremadura in Spain to establish a specialized master's degree in engineering to deliver talent to factories.
