The International Smart Diamond Association has established a cultivation diamond testing standard GDC

The knowledge and inspiration of GDC (Gem&Diamond Certificate) first came from the materials of the three major testing institutions in Canada (GCAL, HKD, GS) and the University of Toronto in the 1990s? The project is jointly implemented around the topic of "How to define gemstones and diamonds more scientifically".

At that time, with the rapid development of the industry, in response to the needs of consumers and practitioners, two questions were raised regarding the testing and production of gemstones and diamonds in the industry. Question one: How to minimize human factors in testing to the greatest extent possible; Question 2: If the testing standards are applied to the production process to improve product quality.

To address these two issues, the project team has established a project on how to define gemstones and diamonds more scientifically, and has proposed several key concepts in the project: standardization, dataization, scientific testing, and production process control.

Standardization: The standards of finished products are reflected through limited grading, eliminating overly complex grading processes

Dataization: All standards can be expressed using data

Scientific testing: Use as many devices as possible to reduce human error in testing

Production process control: On the basis of standardization and dataization, standardized processes are introduced in the processing process (mainly in the selection, polishing, and cutting of rough stones) to achieve product standardization and uniformity.

The project team spent ten years collecting data on over one million gemstones and diamonds, and made some progress in all four aspects. In terms of standardization, the concept of Pantone color has been introduced for colored gemstones and diamonds; In terms of digitization, the data expression methods for color, clarity, and cutting have been redefined; In terms of scientific detection, based on standards, the concept of introducing measurable equipment through data such as chromatography and impurity content percentage has been proposed; The concept of providing standards and data to upstream enterprises during the processing process to assist them in the classification, polishing, and cutting of raw materials using equipment.

Although the project has made some progress, due to the random formation process and uncontrollable influence of various impurities in natural gemstones and diamonds, the project has mainly pointed out the direction for the industry in terms of philosophy, and ultimately there are many practical problems that have not been fully solved when it is implemented.

Entering the 21st century, there are three events that have had a huge impact on humanity and the industry. The first is the development of artificial intelligence AI, which can help humans process big data better and faster; The second is the emergence of blockchain, which can accurately trace the origin of every item; The third is the emergence of cultivating diamonds. Through high-tech means and strict control of the production process, standardized products can be produced.

The project team keenly discovered a solution to the original problem and proposed a new product concept called "Artificial Intelligence Diamond (Gem)". Under new conditions, the project team has redefined the industry around new product concepts. At present, several executable concepts have been proposed around "artificial intelligence diamonds":

Product standardization:

1. Pantone colors are fully used in color, integrated with fashion industries such as clothing, watches, and design

2. Reduce levels and simplify cleanliness, allowing consumers to better understand

Product Dataization:

1. Introducing blockchain methods, all products can be fully traceable

2. Establish a standard system in the form of data on product standards, making it clear to consumers

Scientific testing:

1. Based on standardization and digitization, equipment is the main method for product testing

2. Based on big data, introduce artificial intelligence AI for product detection

Scientific production process:

1. Based on product standards, digitization, and artificial intelligence AI big data tools, provide necessary data for manufacturers in the production process, and produce the most satisfactory products for consumers according to the data

2. Introduce the concept of order based production, provide assistance to manufacturers in their production plans through big data analysis and sharing, and reduce waste of production resources

Based on the concept of "artificial intelligence diamonds" and centered around the cultivation of diamonds in high-tech industrial production, we will create a seamless connection from consumer demand to factory production through standardized and data-driven methods, based on standard establishment, detection, blockchain, and big data sharing. This will achieve a comprehensive leap in the industry and guide the healthy development of the cultivation of diamond industry.

The concept of "Artificial Intelligence Diamond" has been recognized and supported by the Canadian government and the three major testing institutions. Based on the original project team, the entity GDC (Gem&Diamond Certificate) has been established to achieve the specific implementation of the project.

Based on the development status of cultivating diamonds globally, GDC has proposed the following steps:

Step 1: Implement standardization, establish data-driven standards, and provide testing certificates for the industry

Step 2: Introduce blockchain methods to achieve product traceability

Step 3: Introduce artificial intelligence AI to establish a seamless connection from consumers to production

Given that China is currently the world's largest producer of diamonds, GDC is preparing to open an office in China and collaborate with Beijing Kuanshi Technology Co., Ltd. to fully implement the above concepts and methods from China, leading the healthy development of "artificial intelligence diamonds" worldwide.
