Philipp Wolf IV, Who Headed Family Jewelry Box Brand, Dies
Featured

Philipp Wolf IV, who helped turn his family’s jewelry box company, also named Wolf, into an internationally recognized brand, has died at 89.
Born in Malmö, Sweden, Philipp joined the family business—which his great-grandfather had founded in Germany and his grandfather relocated to Sweden—in 1958. He was the fourth generation of his family to head the company.
Philipp IV soon moved to the United Kingdom and introduced the brand there. When he built a factory in Wales in the late 1960s, it was one of the largest in Europe manufacturing products for jewelry storage and display.
His son, Simon, took over London-based Wolf in 1996.
In a statement, the company called Philipp Wolf IV “a true legend who lived life to the full.
“Philipp learned to fly his own plane, played guitar and piano, cycled every weekend, and was always ready for a party. Nothing was ever too much of a problem and he was always quick to laugh.”
In addition to Simon, Wolf is survived by Judie, his wife of 45 years; his daughters, Nina and Anna; and five grandchildren.
