When it comes to wedding jewels, it’s an indisputable fact that women have all the fun. From their two-ring haul to a bevy of day-of accessories—be they simple pearl studs or princess-worthy tiaras—women have long been the focus of the jewelry industry’s decades-old obsession with the bridal category (the word bridal says it all).
A trio of jewelers based in the U.K.—Ellis Mhairi Cameron, The Ouze, and Romany Starrs—think it’s high time the trade give men their due. One look at their new ceremonial jewels designed for masculine tastes—mostly rings, but also lapel pins and brooches—and it’s clear that men’s wedding adornment is finally stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight.
The new men’s pieces reflect the diamond zeitgeist. Scotland-born Cameron, for example, has embraced both the Desert Diamonds palette and on-trend old-cut stones in a series of yellow gold rings featuring her sculptural, organic aesthetic. Starrs, also a Scottish jeweler, leans into a more refined look with lapel and tie pins bearing clean lines and delicate diamond accents. Meanwhile, the contemporary pins and gold rings from The Ouze, the brainchild of London-based Toby Vernon, feature colored stones in warm, hand-carved settings.
As these designers prove, wedding jewelry is no longer a one-sided affair.
