Ahead of its 60th anniversary, RJO has welcomed its 1,200th retail member.

Newton, Iowa—The Retail Jewelers Organization (RJO) recently reached a new milestone, welcoming its 1,200th retail member.

Its new member is Witt’s Jewelry in Wayne, Nebraska.

“Reaching 1,200 members marks more than an enrollment milestone, it represents the strength of the partnerships that define RJO,” said Sarah Streb, CEO of RJO.

“As we head toward our 60th anniversary, we remain focused on growing these partnerships and expanding opportunities for every member of our community.”

Founded in 1966 by Grant Johnson, RJO began with 14 independent jeweler members who began meeting at Johnson’s home.

RJO supports independent jewelers with competitive buying power, marketing programs, and education, the organization said, while helping to foster partnerships for retail members and vendor partners.

Erin Sharp, membership coordinator at RJO, said, “One of the greatest joys of my role is getting to know each new store that joins our organization. Every member brings something meaningful to our community, and Witt’s Jewelry is a wonderful reminder of the passion and dedication independent jewelers bring to their customers every day.”

RJO will kick off its 60th anniversary celebration at its Winter Buying Show, held in Phoenix, Arizona, from February 20-23, 2026.

The event will offer education, networking, and exclusive buying opportunities.
