In 1854, the Asche family established their family business, and in 1902, a Dutch craftsman named Joseph Asche invented "Asche". This cutting was born out of six generations of craftsmanship and art, as well as decades of family innovation. Asche cut diamonds ultimately obtained a patent to ensure the company's exclusive management rights.
In the same year, the world's largest diamond raw stone (3.106 carats, Cullinan) was discovered. Cullinan was then gifted to King Edward VII, and he later commissioned the Asche brothers in Amsterdam to cut the original diamond. After this task, the Asche family cut the largest diamond in the world, which is now worn by members of the royal family and celebrities.
After the end of World War II, when the Asche cutting patent was sold, it began to be sold in the diamond market and gained great popularity, especially during the decorative art period of the 1920s.
