Diamonds Take Spotlight at Christie’s in Hong Kong

Christie’s is offering a number of diamond pieces in the top 10 of its Hong Kong jewelry sale, including a pair of earrings that could fetch up to HKD 2 million ($256,974).

The pair contains six emerald-cut, D-color, internally flawless diamonds ranging from 1.01 to 3.01 carats, for a total of 12.05 carats. The lot is the lead item at the Magnificent Jewels Online sale, which runs until December 5, according to the Christie’s website.

The sale will also feature lots from well-known design houses such as Cartier, Hermes, Bucherer and Buccellati.

Here are some of the other top lots from the auction:

This ring has a cut-cornered square modified-cut, 0.86-carat, fancy-vivid-purplish-pink, SI2-clarity diamond. It carries a high estimate of HKD 1.5 million ($192,729).An antique cushion-cut, 4.28-carat Burmese ruby in a diamond surround lies at the center of this ring, with a top presale price of HKD 1.5 million ($192,729).Another ruby ring, this one with an oval-cut, 12.78-carat Burmese center stone in a pear-shaped and round-diamond frame, has an HKD 1.2 million ($154,182) upper estimate.A pair of earrings featuring pear-brilliant-cut, D, VVS1 diamonds weighing 3.28 and 3.25 carats has a top price of HKD 800,000 ($102,787).These cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut earrings are likely to bring in up to HKD 800,000 ($102,787). One is fancy-vivid yellow and weighs 5.23 carats, while the other is 5.12 carats and fancy-intense yellow.
