Designer of Taylor Swift Ring to Collaborate with Sotheby’s

Goldsmith Kindred Lubeck, who designed Taylor Swift’s engagement ring, will debut at the upcoming Sotheby’s Gem Drop Auction.

Lubeck, the founder of fine-jewelry brand Artifex, has created a limited-edition capsule collection featuring three rings: one with an old mine-cut, 4-carat diamond, one with an old mine, 8-carat, cognac diamond, and a third with a 5-carat blue sapphire. The one-of-a-kind pieces will shine at the November 10 to 13 New York sale, the auction house said last week.  

“Hand-engraving allows me to leave a piece of myself in every ring, transforming each gemstone into something unique that carries a story,” said Lubeck. “Working with Sotheby’s for this capsule gave me the chance to bring that level of care and creativity to a larger audience, and I’m thrilled to share these pieces with collectors who appreciate both artistry and individuality.”

The Gem Drop Auction is a monthly occurrence at Sotheby’s, where new jewels, featuring white and colored diamonds and rare gemstones, go under the hammer with no buyer’s premium.

Next month will see a further Sotheby’s and Lubeck collaboration, this time at the auction house’s December 9 High Jewelry sale. She will present another two rings, bearing a 5.14-carat, D, internally flawless diamond and a 2-carat, orangey-pink diamond.

Lubeck received international attention earlier this year when Taylor Swift revealed her ring after her engagement to football star Travis Kelce.
