Louis Vuitton Parts Ways With Jewelry Director Francesca Amfitheatrof

Louis Vuitton has parted ways with its artistic director of watches and jewelry, Francesca Amfitheatrof, according to reports in French publication La Lettre and WWD.

In a statement to WWD, Amfitheatrof said she was “incredibly proud” to have designed for Louis Vuitton for “seven wonderful and intense years.” She said she will announce her next move soon.

Louis Vuitton and Amfitheatrof did not return requests for comment.

Amfitheatrof’s departure comes shortly after Harper’s Bazaar named her its “Woman of the Year” for 2024.

“Since she took up her role in 2018, Amfitheatrof has been bold in a business that’s more conservative than its fashion counterpart, signaling an ambitious new era for the world’s largest luxury house by pushing its savoir-faire and showcasing extraordinary stones,” the publication wrote.

Amfitheatrof first came to Louis Vuitton in 2018. Her appointment followed four years as design director at pre-LVMH Tiffany. Prior to Tiffany, she designed for Chanel, Fendi, Marni, Alessi, and Asprey & Garrard.
