Kanye West allegedly accused Kim Kardashian of faking $10 million jewelry heist

Kim Kardashian reopened one of the darkest chapters of her life, revealing that one of the people closest to her didn’t believe her.

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim dropped a bombshell: her ex-husband Kanye West allegedly accused her of faking the infamous 2016 Paris robbery where she was held at gunpoint and robbed of nearly $10 million in jewelry.

“Even my ex-husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show,’ and had said that in front of all these people,” Kim said for the camera. “That was a knife to my heart.”

Kim previously described the event as the most terrifying moment of her life. She was tied up, gagged, and thrown in a bathtub while masked men stole millions in valuables, including a $5 million engagement ring from Kanye. But now, almost a decade later, the SKIMS mogul is revealing how deeply her ex’s skepticism affected her.

“Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you—that’s so close to you, that should know you—it just really bothered me,” Kim added. “You don’t know who I am.”

Both Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian came to Kim’s defense on the show. “The narrative that my daughter would make something like this up was ludicrous,” Kris said. “It was just unfathomable.”

veled back to Paris in May 2025 to testify in the criminal trial against the robbers, nearly ten years after the attack “To finally be able to go to trial and face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, ‘See, guys? It was real,’” she said.

Eight out of ten defendants were convicted in the case, with ringleader Aomar Ait Khedache found guilty of armed theft and kidnapping.

In the years following the robbery, Kim swore off flashy jewelry. But fans have noticed that Kim hasn’t exactly stuck to her no-jewelry pledge. In fact, when she returned to Paris to testify in court earlier this year, she was spotted wearing a 22-caract necklace with a million-dollar price tag amongst other flashy accessories

Since the robbery and their 2021 divorce, Kim and Kanye’s fortunes have taken very different turns.

Kim, now the billionaire head of SKIMS and a frequent Forbes lister, has only expanded her empire. In addition to her shapewear brand, she’s launched SKKN, landed multiple brand deals, and is reportedly pursuing legal advocacy work that could lead to a new career.

Kanye, on the other hand, lost his billionaire status after Adidas dropped him in 2022 following a string of controversies. At his peak, Ye’s net worth was estimated at $1.3 billion thanks to Yeezy, but Forbes downgraded him to around $400 million once those deals disappeared.

So, while Kanye once gifted Kim that $5 million ring (and allegedly cast doubt on whether it was ever stolen) Kim’s the one who came out of the ordeal with her empire still intact.
