Kate Middleton Rewears Queen Elizabeth's 100-Year-Old, 40-Carat Diamond Earrings for Royal Date Night

Kate Middleton loves a royal rewear, and her latest is a pair of stunning diamond earrings. On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales and her husband, Prince William, attended the Royal Variety Performance in London.
Middleton paired an emerald velvet off-the-shoulder gown with Cartier's Greville Chandelier Earrings, which were previously owned by her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II. Passed down to the late monarch from her mother, they first belonged to Dame Margaret Greville, who bequeathed multiple pieces to the Queen Mother.
Set in platinum and featuring two pear-shaped diamonds totaling 40 carats, they were designed in 1918 as a pair of drop earrings. 12 more diamonds were added on in 1922, and by 1929, so were another ten.
The Greville Chandelier Earrings feature an Art Deco design composed of multiple different cuts, including baguette, baton, square, emerald, and trapeze.
In September, Middleton revealed how her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis spent the summer. The Princess of Wales visited the National Federation of Women's Institutes in London alongside Prince William, where she spoke about the importance of "making and crafting" in community building.
Middleton also shared that her three kids enjoyed "crafting in every corner of the house" this summer.
Back in July, the Princess returned to Wimbledon as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, a role she’s held since 2016.
Middleton embraced the tournament's traditionally all-white dress code in a short-sleeved Self-Portrait dress. Featuring a pleated midi skirt and a belted bodice, she's favored similar silhouettes by the London-based label in the past.
The Princess accessorized with nude suede pumps by Gianvito Rossi, Cartier earrings, and a gold Halcyon Days bangle, completing her look with a summertime staple: a woven tote.
