German Trade Show Intergem Cancels 2025 Edition
Featured

Intergem, a jewelry trade show that’s been held annually in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, for the past four decades, has canceled its 2025 edition, due to a lack of exhibitor sign-ups.
The 40th edition of Intergem was supposed to take place from April 11 to 13 at Messe Idar-Oberstein, a local exhibition hall.
But according to an Intergem statement, “It has not been possible to motivate the relevant companies from the region to participate in Intergem again. Currently, new concepts for a relaunch of the fair are being discussed.”
Messe Idar-Oberstein’s managing director Mirko Arend called the cancellation “extremely regrettable.”
The fair is “a highlight for the region that should not be given up,” he said in the statement.
Even the city’s mayor, Frank Frühauf, chimed in: “We must work together to ensure that Idar-Oberstein soon becomes a shining trade fair meeting point for the industry again.”
Organizers hope two events that were planned to run in conjunction with Intergem, the “Long Night of Gemstones” and GemTec, will still be held this year, possibly on different dates.
