Fine Jewelry and Watch Highlights of Upcoming Maine Auction

Maine-based Thomaston Place Auction Galleries is set to open its 2026 auction season later this month with Winter Enchantment, a three-day event featuring fine jewelry and luxury horology along with paintings, sculpture, photography, vintage handbags and accessories, furniture, and more.

While the Feb. 20–22 sale is celebrated for its rare Maine art, the jewelry and watch categories represent a significant draw for bidders. They include glitzy vintage platinum and diamond pieces, jewels from Tiffany & Co., and Patek Philippe and Rolex timepieces.

Within the jewelry category, lots span centuries, and the selection blends regional heritage with international prestige. There is the aristocratic weight of heritage designs by Fulco di Verdura, whose work epitomized midcentury socialite glamour, sitting in contrast to the local pedigree of A.G.A. Correa & Son, an Edgecomb, Maine, jeweler known for its maritime-inspired designs. Offering a sophisticated nod to Maine’s nautical roots, A.G.A. Correa & Son’s work shows that regional craftsmanship can hold its own alongside the giants of Place Vendôme.

The Winter Enchantment sale will take place at the auction house in Thomaston, located in eastern Maine, about 75 miles up the coast from Portland. Below are some of the fine jewelry and watch highlights.

Verdura ear clips in 14k yellow gold with 14.6 cts. t.w. faceted blue sapphires, tourmalines, rubies, and citrines of various cuts (circa 1930s, by Fulco di Verdura), estimate $1,000–$1,500
