Emily P. Wheeler Shifts Into Neutral for Latest ‘Ombré’ Collection

Los Angeles—Emily P. Wheeler, who is known for her colorful designs, has debuted a new neutral champagne colorway in her latest “Ombré” collection.

The pieces in the collection are reinterpretations of her bestsellers, but in a gradient of brown and white diamonds.

“Champagne and cognac diamond have always captivated me for their warmth and individuality,” said Wheeler, who is the founder and designer for her eponymous brand.

“Interpreting my signature ombré technique through these stones felt like a natural evolution—both timeless and unexpected.”

She added that her use of neutral tones is a “refined alternative to traditional diamond jewelry, especially for clients who gravitate toward seasonal hues and subtle expressions of color.”

Wheeler said she chose to add this colorway to her Ombré collection because of the rise in demand for brown diamonds.

“I’ve noticed a steady increase in requests from my clients for brown and champagne diamonds, especially in custom commissions. Their unique character and subtle glow bring an unexpected dimension to jewelry,” she said.

“Incorporating them into my ombré designs allows me to showcase that richness in a way that feels both modern and enduring.”

While the 2025 Pantone color of the year ushered in the increased demand for brown hues, De Beers’ new “Desert Diamonds” “beacon” program, officially launched Friday, is also highlighting the color through brown and champagne diamonds.

The Emily P. Wheeler brand also noted that the demand for brown- and champagne-colored diamonds may be increasing because they pair well with vintage- and antique-inspired settings,

The champagne colorway is seen in the new “Shooting Star” ring that has been updated with brown diamonds at the center to anchor the ombré effect and puffy hoops, a cigar band ring, silk cord bracelet, and wrap ring and bracelets set with diamonds that graduate from brown to white.

There are also updated versions of Wheeler’s button and heart stud earrings, which feature white topaz at the center of an ombré diamond halo, and two sizes of articulated fringe earrings set with brown and white diamonds.

The 10 new neutral-toned pieces in the Ombré collection retail from $5,200 to $24,000.
